Obstacle Garden, Trails, Conditioning Track & Fields
The obstacle garden at Brandreth Farms offers several permanent obstacle challenges on the shaded South side of Bryant Creek; A black hole noodle wall, spinny-barrels walk through, a heavy-duty swing gate, 2 transfer barrels or pole balance barrels, elevated step boxes, walk/jog/lope over logs, multiple size tire step challenge, a hitching rail along with an elevated Judge and/or viewing box. A safe distance away from the obstacle garden is an archery mount or target practice station.
The farm has two gentle and easy creek crossings at the East and West side of the property, for horses and vehicles. Take the West creek crossing adjacent to the Obstacle Garden to the North side trails for miles of shady, flat & wide cleared, level footing trails that border the length of the creek throughout the property. Also, assessable from both East and West crossings on the North side, is a beautiful wide open hay field and 20+ miles of shady winding easy trails, along with many elevated trails ranging from mild to very steep with challenging inclines and declines.
Back to the South side of the creek – a USEF regulation Dressage Arena in the Bermuda pasture, which also serves as a very large and long, loping/galloping pasture – maintained low cut with fantastic footing. A one-mile training and conditioning track also with great footing, that follows the perimeter of the lower fescue pasture. Towards the front of the property and at the end of the loping pasture, is the “conditioning mountain” which rises to the highest riding elevation on the property. It has a gentle and gradual, impressive incline and decline with safe and easy footing for walk, jog or lope up hill and then easy downhill.
For our non-riding visitors, we have two shady hiking footpaths that border the Southside and the Northside creek crossings. It is less than a quarter of a mile in and out, a short and easy hike to experience the beauty of the farm on foot. For those seeking a more challenging hike, we have a 1 1/4 mile loop that will take you up a climb of 120 feet between both of the creek crossings.
